Recycled Cans and Bottles in my garden

Ever since I started propagating some of my succulents, I started to run out of pots. I did not want to spend money on pots so I decided to recycle cans, bottles and candle jars. I might even help save the planet with my recycling.
Then I thought I would dressed up the recycled cans to make it look more classy. I created a fabric planter. The cans actually looked good without the cover because of its colors but looked unbelievably beautiful after dressing it with the fabric planter I made. See below what I created and how my can of succies looked after.
Now am thinking of creating more fabric planters to sell or include them when I start selling the plants or selling succulent kits. By the way, watch out for my succulent kits. It is coming sooner than expected.

Succulents in my garden

For months I have been growing and propagating succulents in my garden. I started with a few plants and propagating them on recycled cans and bottles so I don't spend too much on pots. I will be selling them soon for extra income as soon as I have figured out their names. Check out my mini garden of succulents.

i-personalise handmade mini quilts

Making quilts big and small is really my number one and favourite hobby. I learned embroidery from my junior  high school days' Home Economics subject where every week we learn one kind of embroidery stitch and then we will be asked by our teacher to create it on a piece of fabric. Then at the end of the year we are required to create an album of all embroidery stitches we learned and made during the year as part of our final grade. I also learned a little bit of sewing from my senior class where I sewed my very first dress and had to wear and show it to all my classmates at the end of the year. Crochet, learning all crochet stitches and an album at the end of the year and cooking classes I also learned the basics from high school.

But it is patchwork and quilting that really got into me because I never learned it from school. I learned it on my own. I learned from reading quilting magazines and following patterns and i ended up a fabric hoarder and have lots of fat quarters collection. And up to this day it still excites me to create quilts which gave me the idea of making personalise handmade mini quilts. This way I am able to use some of my scraps. With small quilts I can sometimes finish it in a day compared to the really big ones which sometimes take me a year to make. Sometimes I print designs on printable fabric sheets and create them into postcards or as mini wallhangings. I call them 'quilt-a-greet' where you greet someone on their special day with a personalised mini quilt or express your sentiments through a quilt. See some of the creations I have made below. Some of them are one-of-a-kind so they sell quickly.
Click on the image above or click here to check them out individually and if you like any of them, please make a purchase. Prices are at a minimal as I want to sell a lot to help me finance my charity work. More items will be listed as soon as I finished with my quality control process. Thank you.

Ginger planting in my garden

I always have ginger in my weekly grocery list even if it is quite expensive because I use it for my juicing. So was I happy when my sister told me how to plant one. I watched videos in you tube on how to plant ginger at home and decided maybe I should try to experiment planting. So today that is what I did. Here are my ginger cuts -
and after all the instructions I read on how to plant them, here is my ginger planter box - it is not that big
and here is the final phase of the planting with the ginger buried under the soil although I still need to water it.
The instructions said that it will take 4-6 weeks for a growth to happen so am looking forward to end of November to see if my planting is a success. 😇
